I am not that young. Can I still register?
Buddhist youths and those who work with Buddhist youths are welcome to join us.
What about monks and nuns? Can we come?
Venerables are welcome to participate in our conference. We will waive the registration fee for the Sangha.
Why do I have to pay?
At $10 per participant, the conference is very affordable and definitely value for money. We are lucky to have the support of the NACC in providing the venue free and the support of Buddhist enthusiasts in organising the conference on a purely voluntary basis. Nonetheless, we are still required to pay for the food, printing of the conference papers and other miscellaneous items. We are preparing a lot of goodies and can guarantee that while the knowledge shared are pricelss, the goodies we are preparing will be worthed more than $10.
How do I pay?
Instructions will be emailed to all registrations.
Can I come late or leave early?
The conference is designed to open and close with specific messages for the participants. We would like to encourage our participants to be at the conference throughout the day. Nonetheless, we understand if there are exigencies.
The topics that I am keen on are held during the same time. Will there be repeats of the sessions?
Due to time constraints, we are not able to repeat any sessions. However, we are intending to record all sessions and will be distributing the video records to interested parties.
What should I bring?
We will prepare the necessary items but you can bring your own stationery and writing materials. In addition, you might want to bring along your namecards for networking purposes.
Can I bring some books or CDs for free distribution?
Unfortunately, due to our limited resources, we are unable to spend time vetting all materials for free distribution. So, we regret that we will not be setting up any free distribution booths for this conference.
What is Dharma in Action? Are you guys a Buddhist organisation?
Dharma in Action is a platform for engaged Buddhists to execute projects with the end interest in propagating the Dharma. We are not an Buddhist organisation and currently do not have any intention to set up another Buddhist organisation. There are many Buddhist organisations in Singapore and we would like to work with existing organisations.
Is the conference your only project?
The Buddhist Youth Conference 2008 is currently our only project but we are planning to do a vastly different project next year. Look our for more details on this website in the near future.
So what happens after this conference?
It is our intention to have the Buddhist Youth Conference every two years to address Buddhist and Buddhist youth issues amongst Buddhist organisations and youth leaders in Singapore.
